The Reality of Disputes

Traditional legal proceedings drain resources, consume time, and often damage important relationships. Mediation offers a faster, more cost-effective path to resolution that focuses on practical solutions and future cooperation.

Why Future Mediation

Led by John Bennett, who brings over 30 years of real-world experience to the mediation table. John's unique perspective helps create an effective environment where practical solutions emerge and relationships can heal.

When to Choose Mediation

When faced with conflict, disputes, or disagreements, mediation offers a practical alternative to costly litigation. Ideal for situations where relationships matter and when you need a quick and confidential resolution.

Why Choose Mediation?

A practical approach to resolving disputes efficiently:

  • Rapid resolution: Settle disputes within days rather than months or years of litigation, allowing you to move forward.
  • Substantial cost savings: Avoid escalating legal fees with a more economical alternative to court proceedings.
  • Full confidentiality: Keep sensitive matters private, protecting your reputation and relationships.
  • Practical solutions: Focus on outcomes that address real needs and concerns, not just legal technicalities.
  • Relationship preservation: Maintain important relationships when beneficial, rather than burning bridges through adversarial proceedings.
  • You control the outcome: Shape solutions that work for your specific circumstances rather than having decisions imposed by courts.

The Future Mediation Approach

“I founded Future Mediation after experiencing firsthand how even ‘winning’ in court can be a hollow victory. Defending a patent claim by a competitor cost my business nearly a million pounds and two years’ of distraction—despite ultimately winning the case. This taught me that finding practical solutions through mediation isn’t just faster and more affordable—it’s the smarter way to resolve disputes. My approach focuses on understanding what really matters to everyone involved and finding common ground that allows people to move forward.”

How Mediation Works

Mediation is a straightforward process designed to help you resolve disputes efficiently. We begin with a brief consultation to understand your situation, discuss your requirements and establish how long to set aside for the mediation and whether it will be in-person or through Zoom.

During the mediation day, we utilise both joint sessions where all participants come together and private sessions with individual participants, as appropriate for your specific situation. In joint sessions, everyone shares their perspectives in a structured, supportive environment.

During private sessions, you can speak freely with complete confidentiality—nothing shared privately will be disclosed without your permission. We identify key concerns and participants are supported in exploring potential solutions that address everyone’s essential needs.

The mediation process facilitates discussion, rather than suggesting or imposing outcomes. Many disputes can be resolved in a single day, allowing you to move forward quickly.
